What is a Take Certificate?
A Take Certificate is a digital proof of completion. Think of it as a notarized digital receipt for your song. It records the exact SHA-256 cryptographic fingerprints of your DAW session file and all audio stems, paired with an exact UTC timestamp.
Mixing engineers and producers use Take Certification to:
- Lock in Client Sign-Offs: Prove the exact audio stems you delivered to a record label or artist so no one can accidentally modify files later and claim you delivered the wrong mix.
- Protect Unreleased Songs: Create an immutable, timestamped record proving your music existed on a specific date before sending demos out.
- Permanent Milestone Safety: Certified Takes are automatically protected from ever being pruned or deleted during local disk cleanups.
Where to Find Certification in the App
Certifying a mix takes three clicks:
- Open your project in Sabes Pro and click on your final approved Take on the Take Timeline.
- In the right-hand action panel, click the blue button: Certify Milestone (Shield icon).
- Sabes Pro will calculate cryptographic checksums for your session file and all linked WAV stems in seconds.
- Click Download Certificate PDF or Copy Proof Link.
What is Inside a Take Certificate?
The exported certificate (available as a clean PDF or JSON manifest) includes:
- Project & Track Name: Your song title and active workspace directory.
- Root Cryptographic Hash: A unique 64-character SHA-256 fingerprint representing the entire project state.
- Stem Checksum Manifest: Individual hashes for every rendered WAV file, vocal lead, drum bus, and instrumental stem.
- Verified Timestamp & QR Code: A scannable QR code linking to a public verification page where labels can verify integrity without needing Sabes Pro installed.
How Clients or Mastering Houses Can Verify It
When a client or mastering engineer receives your certified stems package, they can verify it in seconds:
- Open the Sabes Pro desktop app, click Tools → Verify Certificate (or scan the QR code on the PDF in any web browser).
- Drop the audio stem folder or certificate JSON onto the screen.
- Sabes Pro verifies that every stem matches its original cryptographic signature bit-for-bit, showing a reassuring green Verified Authentic checkmark.
