What You Need Before Starting
Sabes Pro is built for Windows producers and engineers. Before running the setup, ensure your system has:
- Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) installed on your studio computer.
- Your preferred DAW: Ableton Live, FL Studio, Reaper, Cubase, Nuendo, or Pro Tools.
- A few gigabytes of free disk space for your local backup repository.
Step 1: Download and Run the Installer
Head to our Download page and grab the latest Windows installer (or get it directly from the Microsoft Store). Run the installer, accept the default prompts, and launch Sabes Pro.
Step 2: Pair Your Desktop App (Optional but Recommended)
If you have created an account on our website, pairing your desktop app turns on your cloud features, team collaboration, and subscription benefits:
- In your web browser, log in at
sabespro.comand open your Account Dashboard. - Click the Connected Devices & Sessions tab.
- Click the blue button: Generate 6-Digit Pairing Code. You will see a temporary code like
849-201. - In your Sabes Pro desktop application, click the Settings (gear icon) in the top right corner.
- Select Pair Device, type in the 6-digit code, and click Connect. Your desktop app will link immediately.
Step 3: Add Your DAW Project Folder
Now let us tell Sabes Pro which folders to protect:
- On the main screen of Sabes Pro (the Projects Hub), click the prominent button: Add Project / Track Folder.
- Browse to the directory where your music projects are saved on your computer (for example,
D:\Music\Ableton Projects\Song_AorE:\Reaper Sessions). - Click Select Folder. Sabes Pro will scan the folder for session files (.als, .flp, .rpp, .cpr, .ptx) and initialize your local backup repository.
Step 4: Test Your First Automatic Save (Take)
Let us make sure everything is working properly:
- Open your session file in your DAW (like Ableton, FL Studio, or Reaper).
- Make a tiny adjustment (such as tweaking a volume fader or panning a hi-hat) and press Ctrl+S on your keyboard to save.
- Switch back to the Sabes Pro window. You will see a new row appear instantly on your Take Timeline with an exact timestamp, file size, and save details.
Step 5: Where to Find Key Features in the App
Here is a quick map of where everything lives in the interface:
- Take Timeline: Click on your project name to see your full chronological history of saves.
- Restore or Export Take: Click any Take row on the timeline to see action buttons on the right: Restore Take (replaces current file) or Export Standalone (saves a separate copy).
- Fork Take: Select any Take and click Fork Take to branch off an experiment without touching your main mix.
- A/B Compare: Click the A/B Compare tab at the top of the window to level-match two audio bounces using integrated LUFS.
- Project Health Check: Click the Project Health tab to scan your project for missing WAV samples or broken plugin references.
- Cloud Backup (BYOS): Click Settings → Cloud Storage to connect your private Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, or Wasabi bucket.
